ICT and Computing

A brief difference between ICT and Computing is : ICT theory covers the applications of ICT and its effect on society. ICT is also much more to do with running software.  Computing theory covers the way computers and programs work. While Computing involves the use of programming languages such as Visual Basic and Prolog

Skype

Skype is a software application that allows users to make voice calls over the Internet. Calls to other users within the Skype service are free, while calls to both traditional landline telephones and mobile phones can be made for a fee using a debit-based user account system. Skype has also become popular for its additional features which include instant messaging, file transfer, and video conferencing. The network is operated by a company called Skype Limited, headquartered in Luxembourg and partly owned by eBay.
I think skype is important because it has allowed people to connect to eachother in a variety of ways and for free. I think it could become even bigger in the future with updrades in hardware and software moreover the growing user populaton.

Computers and me!!!

Well my first computer lesson was interesting, im enjoying the idea that its quite new to me but i dont want to be behind everyone in class. I think out of all my sujects il have to revise most on this. I understand system specs and what they do but not really how they work. Programing will be hard for me and I think web design even though thats ismeant to be easy. Im not the most creative person on a computer!  I think I may need to sit next to someone who is a bit more experienced and that can show me step by step what to do, but i will try my hardest to do as much as i can on my own.
